Welcome To International Montessori

Authentic Montessori Preschool & Primary Education In Austin, TX since 1965

Our Programs

At International Montessori, we understand that toddlers are magnificent little humans. The Montessori toddler program is developed for children between the ages of 18 months to about 3 years old (preschool age). At this age, the child’s development is at a beautiful peak. With so much going on in their little bodies and minds, our classrooms are prepared learning environments encouraging children to explore and grow.

The Montessori Primary Program offers a unique, authentic Montessori learning environment for children ages 3 to 6 years old. This age group is at the core of the International Montessori Montessori approach since it supports the idea that children from the age of birth to 6 years old are in a developmental period called the absorbent mind.

In a Montessori school Kindergarten is the final year of study in the Primary classroom. The Primary curriculum for children ages 3 – 6 years old is integral in shaping and nurturing the inquisitive mind, moral character, and lifelong love of learning.

Letter from the Director/Owner

Dear Families and Friends,

As a parent, deciding where to send your child for early education is one of the most important decisions you will make. International Montessori House of Children is the school of choice for many parents based on a variety of factors, including a proven educational system following the Montessori pedagogy created by Dr. Maria Montessori, and the shared core values of integrity, honesty, love, and respect that our staff embodies.

As a second-generation owner of International Montessori, I take extreme honor and pride in continuing the legacy set forth by our founder Mrs. Iranganie Weerasuria. I make the following commitments to our students and families:

Treat each child as an individual that deserves the utmost respect and love to encourage their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

Challenge students to reach their full academic potential.

Encourage students to explore their talents beyond the classroom.

Foster diversity treating all students as equals, regardless of nationality, religion, race, or identity.

International Montessori House of Children’s academic and administrative leadership will focus on your child as a whole. We will guide your children to become the best they can be.  Your child will not only be prepared for their future educational experience but also be prepared to adapt to an ever-changing world and to value learning and understanding from a global perspective.

At our school, everyone is welcome and accepted. We will prepare your child to be a citizen of the world through academics, the pursuit of his or her interests, and engagement within our community.

We hope to welcome you to our community soon.
